Preview: Daniel Lynch toes the slab, Olivares is wowing, starting lineups vs. Reds (ST GAME 5)
Kansas City (4-0-1) is coming off of another spring training victory over the Colorado Rockies on Wednesday afternoon.
Zack Greinke debuted with the 2022 Royals on Wednesday's 8-4 victory. Greinke had a quick three innings with two hits, a run and a walk.
Greinke was pleased with his performance according to MLB.com. "The day was better than expected," Greinke said. "The results were pretty good. The results were ideal. The fastball was coming out pretty good. The location (of the pitches) was close enough to make me happy. The biggest issue is comfort level with runners on base."
Royals manager Mike Matheny went on 610 Sports KCSP on Wednesday morning and didn't list Greinke as the opening day starter. He was quick to deny any rumors that Greinke was going to be the opening day starter against Cleveland on April 7th.
