After Tyreek Hill trade, Chiefs have most draft picks and cap space in the NFL
With the jaw-dropping Tyreek Hill trade, Kansas City now has a lot of football ammunition to play with heading into the 2022 campaign.
FULL TRADE DETAILS:
Kansas City traded Tyreek Hill to the Miami Dolphins for a 2022 first-round pick (No. 29), a second-round pick (No. 50) and a fourth-round pick. The Chiefs also acquired a 2023 fourth-round pick and a sixth-round pick.
Miami received Tyreek Hill and awarded Hill with a 4-year $120 mil. contract including $72.2 mil. guaranteed.
CHIEFS HAVE SECURITY NOW:
Before the trade, the Chiefs were sitting at $8,903,285 in cap space with a restructure of Joe Thuney's contract.
Kansas City now sits with $28,633,285 in cap space.
Kansas City now has 12 draft picks in the 2022 NFL draft with a desperate need for EDGE rushers, wide receivers and corners.
The trade was everything the Chiefs could possibly want.
CHIEFS AVOIDED POTENTIAL DRAMA:
Tyreek Hill's agent, Drew Rosenhaus is notorious for getting his clients everything they want in pending extensions and contracts. Tyreek Hill (most likely) would've sat out potential workouts and training camp until an extension was signed, sealed and delivered.
MIAMI WENT FROM PRETENDER TO CONTENDER:
Hill is his own style of wide receiver. He is a human joystick.
Hill joins Jaylen Waddle, DeVante Parker and Mike Gesicki in a brand new Mike McDaniel offense in south beach.
Dolphins quarterback Tua Tagovailoa now has two of the fastest receivers in the league, a huge target in Parker and a top-10 tight end in football with Gesicki.
WHO WON THE TRADE?:
Shockingly, Kansas City. The Chiefs were doomed in cap space and now have more resources than anyone in the NFL.
